Salans hires regulatory lawyer for Frankfurt

06 February 2009

Salans has appointed a new regulatory partner to its Frankfurt office.

Dr Ivana Mikešic joins from Linklaters and brings with her an associate. Mikešic will focus on the areas of energy law, environment and public planning.

Mikešic has advised in relation to airport services and associated administrative law proceedings at Frankfurt, Berlin Tegel and Schönefeld airports, while also advising project development and investment companies on numerous projects and real estate transactions.

Prior to her time at Linklaters, Mikešic was at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and formed part of the advisory team to Fraport.

The addition of Mikešic boosts Salans' administrative law practice in Germany to eight lawyers, headed by Berlin partner Dr Jörg Karenfort. Karenfort and Mikešic will work on expanding the reach of the firm's European regulatory practice, already recognised as one of the market leaders.

Global managing partner, Dariusz Oleszczuk, commented: "We are very pleased to have Ivana join the firm at this time. No firm is immune from the global downturn, but Salans is attempting to mitigate any effects by ensuring our strongest areas for growth are resourced accordingly. The state of the current market presents not only challenges, but also opportunities for new business and recruitment."

He added that the law firm's "long-standing strength in the energy, environment and regulatory arena ensures we continue to be well-placed to assist clients active in these sectors."

Salans is an international law firm with more than 750 lawyers, of which 184 are partners, operating from 20 offices around the world.
